Adenoma of the colon is a type of intestinal polyp. Polyp is a collective term for an elevated lesion in the intestinal lumen and is classified as adenomatous polyp, inflammatory polyp, and hyperplastic polyp. Adenomas, or adenomatous polyps, are classified into tubular adenomas, villous adenomas, and mixed adenomas according to their pathological patterns. Most colorectal adenomas are asymptomatic and are mostly found inadvertently during colonoscopy. In addition, the following symptoms may also occur: 1. blood in stool: small amount, color is related to the location of adenoma; if the adenoma is located near the anus, the blood is bright red; if the adenoma is located higher, the blood color is dark or dark red clot; 2. symptoms of intestinal irritation: diarrhea or increased number of stools; 3. intestinal overturning or intestinal obstruction.
