What to do if you vomit after chemotherapy

Post-chemotherapy vomiting is the main clinical manifestation of common gastrointestinal adverse reactions after chemotherapy. Post-chemotherapy vomiting can affect the process of chemotherapy, so the treatment requires the addition of antiemetic drugs to symptomatic treatment to help patients successfully complete chemotherapy. At present, the commonly used antiemetic drugs in chemotherapy are palonosetron, edansetron, gastrofacial, dexamethasone and aripitant, etc. Depending on the degree of vomiting, they can be used singly or in combination with two drugs. For some patients who vomit after chemotherapy, preventive antiemetic drugs can be applied in advance before the next chemotherapy. For some patients with severe vomiting, intravenous nutrition is also needed to help complete chemotherapy successfully.
