The following symptoms should be considered as possible nasopharyngeal carcinoma, which should be examined by ENT department in time for early detection and diagnosis and treatment: 1.Nasal symptoms: Bloody nasal discharge or blood in sputum in early stage, generally the amount of bleeding is not much, but in late stage, there may be a lot of bleeding and nasal obstruction. 2.Ear symptoms: stuffy ears, tinnitus and hearing loss, mostly due to obstruction or compression of the eustachian tube by the cancer. 3.Circumcised mass in the neck: It is often the earliest symptom found by patients, especially if it is hard, fixed and with unclear boundary. 4.Headache: caused by tumor erosion and destruction of skull base, intracranial spread or involvement of cranial nerves. In advanced stage, the pain is often stubborn and severe, and sometimes it can be the only symptom at the time of consultation. 5. Other symptoms such as diplopia, eye strabismus, etc. Special tips: If you have the above symptoms, you should first undergo nasopharyngoscopy, and due to the hidden location, it is better for some patients to be examined under nasal endoscopy. If any problem is found, biopsy for pathology, X-ray or CT scan, serum EBV antibody titer and other tests should be performed. If the pathology is confirmed as nasopharyngeal carcinoma, hospitalization should be performed as soon as possible, whole body examination should be conducted to understand whether there is any spread, radiotherapy is preferred, and chemotherapy can also be combined.
