What to do if your child has strabismus

Children with strabismus can be treated by optometry or surgery to balance the eye position. 1. Optometry: Children with accommodative strabismus whose eye position is skewed due to refractive error can undergo dilated optometry, and according to the results of the optometry, they will be fitted with spectacles to correct their refractive error and balance their eye position. 2. Surgery: If conservative treatment is ineffective and the child’s strabismus is large, the child can undergo surgery as prescribed by the doctor, i.e., to change the position or strength of the extraocular muscles to correct strabismus through surgery. It is recommended that children with strabismus should consult a doctor in time to evaluate their condition and choose the appropriate treatment according to the doctor’s advice.
