AML is also known as acute myeloid leukemia. The length of time AML can live varies, with short patients dying in a few months and long patients living a normal life, which is often the case for patients with curable leukemia. Acute myeloid leukemia is divided into eight subtypes, M0-M7, of which M3 is also called acute promyelocytic leukemia and has a high cure rate. Regardless of the subtype of AML, prognosis can be further stratified. For patients with low-risk AML, the prognosis is relatively good, with a relatively high cure rate and a long survival period. Patients with high-risk AML have a relatively low cure rate, a relatively poor prognosis, and a relatively short survival period.
