What’s ibuprofen?



Ibuprofen is a class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, can be used to reduce fever and relieve mild to moderate pain, is a symptomatic treatment of drugs, there are tablets, capsules, granules and other dosage forms, need to be used under the guidance of a doctor.

Ibuprofen has antipyretic and analgesic effects. When used as antipyretic, it can only be used if the body temperature is above 38.5°C and the fever is caused by the common cold or influenza; when used as analgesic, it can alleviate mild to moderate arthralgia, migraine, toothache, muscular pain, menstrual cramps, neuralgia and other conditions.

Oral ibuprofen, a small number of patients may experience gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, dizziness and other side effects. With topical application of ibuprofen, adverse reactions such as skin tingling, redness and swelling may occur. This drug is contraindicated in pregnant women, lactating women, those who are allergic to this drug, those with severe hepatic or renal insufficiency and heart failure, and those who have experienced upper gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation in the past with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Ibuprofen should not be used for a long period of time, not more than 5 days for pain relief, not more than 3 days for antipyretic, this drug may cause bodily harm, so patients need to strictly follow the doctor’s instructions for the use of drugs.
