Do babies get a fever when they are teething?

Fever may occur in teething infants, but it is usually not more than 38℃, and not all infants will necessarily have a fever when teething. Inflammatory reactions due to localized tissue damage caused by teething can lead to transient fever in infants, which usually resolves within a day or two, and the temperature is not too high, within 38℃. If an infant develops a high or persistent fever during teething, it is important to be alert to the possibility of infection, most commonly including hidden infections, such as a combination of urinary tract infections or intracranial infections. In addition, purulent tonsillitis and acute upper respiratory tract infections can also cause fever in babies. If your baby develops fever, it is recommended that he or she go to the pediatrician’s office in the hospital in a timely manner and receive targeted treatment under the doctor’s guidance.
