The number of days it takes to heal a pus-filled infection of the tonsil crypts is related to the severity of the condition and the physical condition of the individual. Treatment with effective antibiotics and no complications can usually be cured in 7 to 10 days. Tonsil crypt abscess infection can be acute follicular tonsillitis or acute crypt tonsillitis. When the body’s resistance drops, pathogens present in the pharynx and tonsil crypt can multiply and cause inflammation. Purulent tonsillitis can have high fever, chills, swallowing pain and other symptoms, tonsils can be seen congestion, swelling, crypt mouth can have pus oozing. Acute tonsillitis requires the use of sensitive antibiotics such as penicillin to fight infection, usually 2~3 days will be improved. If there is no improvement, high fever does not go away, the cause should be specifically analyzed, to take the replacement of antibiotics such as erythromycin and other treatments. You can also use topical compound chlorhexidine gargle, furacilin gargle and concentrated tinidazole solution to gargle. If acute tonsillitis does not cause local complications such as peritonsillar abscess, systemic complications such as acute rheumatic fever, it can be cured in 7~10 days with effective treatment. The course of the disease may be prolonged, if there are any of these complications, or if the patient has diabetes or reduced immune function.
