Uric acid is the term used in Western medicine, while high uric acid may lead to gout belongs to the category of paralysis in Chinese medicine. Dendrobium can relieve other discomforts in patients with high uric acid, but there is no evidence that Dendrobium has the effect of lowering uric acid.
Dendrobium is sweet in flavor and slightly cold in nature. It belongs to the stomach and kidney meridians. It has the effect of benefiting the stomach and generating fluid, nourishing yin and clearing heat. It is often used in the treatment of stomach yin insufficiency (lack of yin fluid in the stomach) caused by vague burning pain in the stomach and epigastric cavity, dry mouth and tongue, dullness (lack of appetite, less food), thirst and other illnesses after illnesses with deficiency heat, and it can also be used in the treatment of dimming of vision and other diseases caused by yin deficiency in the liver and kidney.
