There is no reaction within a short period of time when taking Tonifying Zhong Yi Qi Pill. Patients who are weak in spleen and stomach, or have a sinking of the middle qi (deficiency of spleen and stomach qi, with manifestations such as falling of the internal organs) will usually feel better after using the medicine for a period of time as prescribed by the doctor with symptoms such as less food and abdominal distension, tiredness and fatigue.
Composed of Astragalus, Codonopsis, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Radix Achyranthes Bidentatae, Radix Bupleurum Chinense, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, it can tonify the middle Jiaozhong and benefit the vital energy (treating deficiency of vital energy by tonifying spleen). It is used for body fatigue and weakness, and prolapse of internal organs. The adverse reactions and contraindications of this drug are not known.
Tonifying the middle Jiao Qi Pill is not suitable for those who are suffering from the superficial symptoms of malignant cold (fear of cold) and fever, and those who are suffering from the solid symptoms of bloating and fullness in the epigastrium (stomach and abdomen) after overeating; it should not be taken at the same time with cold and flu medicines; and it is not advisable to take quinquefolium or its preparation at the same time when taking this medicine.
If headache, dizziness, diplopia, or skin rash, redness of the face occur during the period of taking the medicine, as well as a tendency to increase blood pressure, the medicine should be stopped immediately. Patients are advised to use the drug under the guidance of a doctor.
