Are all bone tumors bone cancer? Do they all require amputation?

Q: Are all bone tumors bone cancer? A: Bone tumors are divided into benign bone tumors, junctional bone tumors and malignant bone tumors. Malignant bone tumors are generally sarcomas, commonly known as “bone cancer”. Q: Do all malignant bone tumors require amputation? A: At present, most of the malignant bone tumors can be treated by limb preservation. According to our experience in limb preservation, more than 90% of patients can be treated by limb preservation. After limb preservation treatment, the survival rate is not significantly different from that of amputation, but the limb function has been greatly improved. Q: Do all malignant bone tumors require chemotherapy? A: Only malignant bone tumors that are sensitive to chemotherapy are treated with chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is an adjuvant treatment.
