Pharyngitis is generally not a precursor of esophageal cancer (esophageal cancer), and pharyngitis rarely causes esophageal cancer. Pharyngitis is an inflammatory disease that occurs in the mucous membrane or lymphatic tissues of the pharynx after bacterial or viral infection, which is a kind of benign lesion. The cause of esophageal cancer is not clear at present, and it is considered to be associated with poor dietary habits, long-term heavy smoking and drinking, and hereditary factors. Generally pharyngitis is not associated with the high incidence of esophageal cancer. Some patients with esophageal cancer may have the symptom of foreign body sensation in the throat, which is similar to the symptom of pharyngitis, but it is a malignant disease, and its nature is very different from that of pharyngitis, and there are obvious differences between pharyngitis and esophageal cancer in terms of triggers, treatments and prognosis.
