Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are recommended to have 23-valent pneumococcal vaccine and influenza vaccine prophylactic immunization. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is the full name of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). According to the “Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (Revised 2021)”, vaccination is an effective treatment for preventing infections of the corresponding pathogens, which mainly includes influenza vaccine and pneumococcal vaccine. Influenza vaccination can reduce the severity and death rate of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and it is recommended that patients with chronic respiratory disease be prioritized for vaccination, especially the elderly and patients with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and the influenza vaccine needs to be vaccinated annually. Vaccination with 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine reduces the incidence of community-acquired pneumonia in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease younger than 65 years of age. Pneumococcal vaccine is recommended every 5 years. Routine 23-valent pneumococcal vaccine and influenza vaccine are recommended for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) to prevent infections caused by the appropriate pathogens and to reduce disease morbidity and severity.
