There are a variety of antiviral eye drops, each with different indications and advantages and disadvantages, and it is not always better to say which one is better. Commonly used antiviral eye drops, such as 0.1% acyclovir eye drops or 0.15% ganciclovir eye drops, are mainly used for herpes simplex virus infections, especially for herpes simplex virus type 1 and type 2 with the strongest effect. Ribavirin eye drops are broad-spectrum antiviral drugs that inhibit herpes simplex virus, influenza virus, and adenovirus, but excessive absorption may result in bone marrow suppression and fetal toxicity. There are also some biological agents, such as interferon eye drops, which are mainly adjuvant antiviral keratitis and conjunctivitis treatment. They have no damaging effect on normal cells, but may cause allergy and need to be refrigerated.
