Palpation of axillary lymph nodes should be performed in the order of axillary apical lymph nodes, central lymph nodes, pectoral lymph nodes, subscapular lymph nodes and lateral lymph nodes. Palpation should be performed by sliding the index, middle and ring fingers together. If enlarged lymph nodes are detected on palpation, attention should be paid to their location, size, number, hardness, mobility, and the presence of adhesions to help determine the cause of the enlargement. Common causes include inflammation of the breast and other axillary lymphatic drainage areas, metastasis of malignant tumors, and acute inflammation of the lymph nodes themselves. If there is any discomfort, it is recommended to seek prompt medical attention for diagnosis and treatment.
