Barium meal examination of gastric sinus cancer may show niche shadow, gastric sinus stenosis and other manifestations. 1. Niche shadow: gastric sinus cancer may cause ulceration of gastric wall in gastric sinus, when the ulceration reaches a certain depth, barium will fill up the ulceration place in the process of barium meal contrast, resulting in the appearance of niche shadow in barium meal examination. 2. Gastric sinus stenosis: most of gastric sinus cancer shows infiltrative growth, protrudes from the surface of gastric mucous membrane and occupies into the gastric cavity, thus leading to narrowing of gastric sinus, which is manifested as gastric sinus stenosis in barium meal examination. If barium meal test shows suspected gastric sinus cancer, it is recommended to carry out further diagnosis, and after clear diagnosis, treatment should be carried out under doctor’s guidance.
