The examination program of herpes zoster includes physical examination and laboratory examination, and the laboratory examination includes herpes scrape smear, serologic examination, and virologic examination.
1. Physical examination: the doctor should carefully observe the nature, shape and distribution of the rash, and if necessary, palpate the lymph nodes to determine the severity of the disease. Ocular herpes zoster need to turn over the eyelids to check for conjunctival invasion, and herpes zoster in the external auditory canal need to further check the hearing.
2. Laboratory tests: Herpes scraping material smear can be seen in the cell nucleus inclusion bodies and multinucleated giant cells, which can help diagnosis. Serologic tests show that the antibody titer is elevated more than 4 times, which helps to make the diagnosis. Virologic tests can help confirm the diagnosis.
