Symptoms of a fractured coccyx include pain, swelling, limited mobility, and decreased sensation. 1. Pain: Patients with coccyx fracture usually have obvious pain in the sacrococcygeal area, especially when sitting or knocking on the tailbone area, and the pain will be reduced when lying on the side. 2. Swelling: after the fall of tailbone fracture, it may trigger the rupture of surrounding blood vessels, resulting in subcutaneous bruising, patients can see obvious swelling in the tailbone area, and the color of the skin is mostly blue or purple. 3. Restriction of activities: local pain and swelling may restrict the activities of the tailbone area, making it difficult for the patient to stand up or sit down. 4. Hyperalgesia: If the tailbone of the spine is fractured, the motor nerves innervating the lower limbs may be compressed, resulting in numbness, hyperalgesia and even paralysis of the anterior thighs and posterior calves of the lower limbs.
