There will be no Mycobacterium tuberculosis after the TB is cured, but the TB quiescent stage is easily mistaken for the TB being cured, however, there is still Mycobacterium tuberculosis in the body of a patient with TB quiescent stage. After TB is cured, there will be no tubercle bacilli in the body, and sputum smears will be negative for many times. Patients in the quiescent stage of TB do not have any symptoms, and sputum smears are negative, very much like those who have been cured of TB. However, these patients still have tubercle bacilli in their bodies, and stopping the medication in the mistaken belief that they have been cured may lead to a recurrence of TB. Tuberculosis is a respiratory infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection that occurs in the lung tissue, trachea, bronchus and pleura. Treatment should follow the principles of early, regular, whole course, appropriate dosage and combination. If you are diagnosed with tuberculosis, please follow the doctor’s instructions to complete the two phases of treatment: intensive phase and consolidation phase.
