The life expectancy after acute heart attack is counted by days, so acute heart attack is more terrible than cancer. For cancer patients, the main statistic is 5-year survival rate, and if it is more than 50%, it means that the condition has improved after cancer treatment, but this is not the case for heart attack. When a heart attack occurs, about half of the people will have sudden ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation, leading to sudden death, so it is unfortunate that they can come to the hospital and be treated in all aspects. The rest of the people who come to the hospital are most likely to have malignant arrhythmias, ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation in the first 48-72 hours after the onset of the disease, and once they appear, they must be electrically defibrillated immediately, otherwise they will die within 2-3 minutes from respiratory and cardiac arrest, heart failure, and multiple organ failure. When 3-4 days after the onset, the chance of malignant arrhythmias, ventricular tachycardia, and ventricular fibrillation decreases, but mechanical complications of the heart, the chance of occurrence rises again, mainly complications such as cardiac rupture. If the heart ruptures, it depends on the location of the rupture. If it is inside the heart, such as papillary muscle, septum, or tendon, there is a possibility to save it back, although the life is in danger. However, if the rupture is on the outer surface of the heart, such as the free wall of the heart, there is basically no possibility of saving this condition and death from acute pericardial compression within about 2-3 minutes. The idea of emergency treatment by giving the patient an open chest is not practical, because the time needed to send to the operating room, general anesthesia, open chest, and repair under direct vision, is at least half an hour, and such patients often die within 2-3 minutes. At present, in all provinces and cities in China, there is a great lack of examples of successful resuscitation, so they are still not among those who can be universally saved back. Therefore the average life expectancy after acute heart attack, there is no way to make statistics, big data for individual individuals, there is no meaning, most people with heart attack will die suddenly directly, only a small number of people can survive. But when discharged from the hospital, patients may experience a decline in cardiac function and eventually die from malignant ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation episodes. Therefore, there is no reasonable data to count the average life expectancy after acute myocardial infarction.
