Glucose tolerance test is to draw blood once in the early morning on an empty stomach to measure blood glucose, counting from the time of the first sip of sugar water, and drawing blood for measurement at 0.5 hours, 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours respectively. 1. Fasting: Fasting for about 8 to 10 hours before the blood draw, it is recommended to go to the hospital in the morning to test the fasting blood level. 2. Post-meal blood glucose: Start counting the time when you take the first sip of glucose, and then draw blood for measurement at 0.5 hour, 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours respectively. Note: Generally, 75 grams of glucose (dissolved in 250-300 ml of water) is chosen to be consumed within 5 minutes. Through the glucose tolerance test, the level of blood glucose and insulin resistance can be assessed. It should be noted that diuretics and contraceptive pills should be stopped 3 to 7 days before the test, and insulin should not be used on the day of the test. It is recommended that the glucose tolerance test be performed under the guidance of a doctor.
