What to take for epididymal pain

Epididymal pain is usually seen as a result of epididymitis, epididymal cysts, trauma, etc. It can be handled by choosing medication and surgery depending on the cause. Treatment drugs include 0.5% lidocaine, ceftazidime, erythromycin, acetaminophen, ibuprofen and so on.
1. Epididymitis: swelling and pain in the scrotum may occur, and the pain is aggravated when standing. Acute epididymitis needs bed rest, and the scrotum will be lifted up, and 0.5% lidocaine can be used to do spermatic cord closure to reduce pain. Chronic epididymitis can be supported by holding up the scrotum, and localized hot compresses and hot water sitz baths can help relieve symptoms.
However, care should be taken to ensure the right temperature to prevent burns. Patients can also take ceftazidime, erythromycin, ofloxacin and other drugs to fight inflammation and relieve pain.
2. Epididymal cyst: If the cyst is large, it can cause scrotal swelling and pain. Surgery is usually needed to remove the cyst to relieve pain and other discomfort.
3. Trauma: When the scrotum area is hit by external force, it can cause pain. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can be used to relieve pain, commonly used drugs are acetaminophen, ibuprofen and so on.
If the pain in the epididymis cannot be relieved for a short period of time, it is recommended to go to the hospital to receive professional treatment after clarifying the cause of the disease, and the medication should be applied under the guidance of the doctor.
