What not to eat with a fever

Spicy and stimulating foods, cold and greasy foods and beverages containing ethanol are not recommended for people with fever, as they may aggravate the discomfort and are not conducive to recovery. People with fever often have poor appetite, do not want to eat, and spicy stimulation, cold and greasy food on the stomach and intestinal stimulation, consumption may cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea and other discomforts. Ethanol can interact with antipyretic and analgesic drugs, central nervous system inhibitors, cephalosporins and many other drugs, triggering gastric hemorrhage, headache, respiratory distress, palpitations and other serious adverse reactions. In the clinical treatment of fever, the above drugs may be present in the prescription, which may lead to adverse reactions if taken with ethanol-containing beverages at the same time. A light, easily digestible diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and small amount of warm boiled water for fever is more conducive to symptomatic relief and physical recovery.
