What to check for a bad nose

If you have an uncomfortable nose, you can do nasal endoscopy, imaging examination, allergen examination, histologic pathology biopsy and other examinations. 1. Nasal endoscopy: Nasal endoscopy is one of the most commonly used examination methods in ENT, which is able to directly observe the shape of the nasal septum, the size of the turbinate, nasal secretions, and the anatomical structure of the nasal cavity. 2. Imaging examination: the imaging examinations that can be chosen when the nose is not suitable include X-ray nasolacrimal ductography, nasal CT, MRI, etc. X-ray nasolacrimal ductography can make clear whether there is sinusitis infection in the nasal cavity; nasal CT can make clear whether there is sinusitis; and MRI can determine the scope of infiltration of the tumor in the nose and its relationship with the surrounding tissues, which can provide help for the surgical plan. 3. Allergen examination: the appearance of nasal discomfort may be caused by nasal allergy after contacting allergens, therefore, allergens can be examined, allergens can be clarified, and allergens can be avoided to achieve the purpose of improving the discomfort. 4. Histopathological biopsy: If there are superfluous organisms in the nasal cavity, the uncomfortable feeling of the nose will also occur. In order to clarify the cause of the disease, it is usually necessary to determine the benign or malignant nature of the superfluous organisms through histopathological biopsy, so as to decide on the treatment plan. Therefore, if the nose is uncomfortable, it is recommended to go to the hospital in a timely manner, follow the doctor’s instructions to improve the relevant examination, early identification of the cause of the disease, and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
