There is no such thing as “the best treatment for hypothyroidism”. The treatment for hypothyroidism includes general treatment, hormone replacement therapy and rescue treatment for critical illnesses. 1. General treatment: maintain a low-fat, high-fiber diet to help promote defecation and avoid elevated blood lipids; hypothyroidism patients may have symptoms of chills and need to keep warm. 2. Hormone replacement therapy: supplemental levothyroxine can be used as prescribed by the doctor, usually taken on an empty stomach before breakfast, and at least 30 minutes should be taken between doses before eating. 3. Rescue treatment for critical illnesses: when hypothyroidism induces mucous edema coma, it is necessary to supplement levothyroxine treatment by oral or intravenous; give oxygen, keep the airway open; keep warm; also can be injected intravenously with hydrocortisone and other drugs. Patients diagnosed with hypothyroidism should actively cooperate with doctors for treatment.
