Pneumoconiosis, also known as silicosis, is an irreversible disease; mild tuberculosis can be cured, but pneumoconiosis plus tuberculosis is not curable. Pneumoconiosis occurs mostly in industrial areas, among workers with polluting gases, and is caused by excessive inhalation of tiny particles in the lungs. It produces a large number of small nodular shadows in the lungs, causing the patient to have difficulty breathing, while tuberculosis is mainly caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, which causes coughing, hemoptysis and other discomforts in the lungs. Most tuberculosis can be cured, but pneumoconiosis is not curable, and is mostly treated by lung replacement, thus pneumoconiosis plus tuberculosis is not curable. For patients with pneumoconiosis plus tuberculosis, it is important to avoid infections. A slight inflammation will aggravate the progression of the lungs, leading to dyspnea and the emergence of pulmonary heart disease. Therefore, standardized treatment should be followed.
