What are the tumors of the jaw

Tumors occurring in the jaws can be broadly classified into benign and malignant tumors, with benign tumors including verrucous lesions and truly benign tumors. Benign tumors can be divided into odontogenic tumors and osteogenic tumors according to the mechanism of occurrence, with odontogenic tumors being the most common, such as enamel cell tumors and odontogenic kerato cystic tumors. Some tumor-like lesions, such as maxillary cysts, are related to dental lesions. Malignant tumors, on the other hand, include cancers of the maxillary sinus, jaw bone, sarcomas, and systemic malignancies occurring in the jaw, such as malignant melanoma and lymphoma. Most of the treatments for jawbone tumors are based on surgical treatments, which in turn include scraping of the jawbone tumor, partial resection of the jawbone, hemilaminectomy of the jawbone and even total resection of the jawbone.
