There are no obvious contraindications for Houxi point, the needling should take a half-clenched fist posture, the massage should be moderate strength, the operation of the prerequisite is that there is no local trauma, skin ulceration, etc..
1. The Houxi point should be taken in a slightly clenched-fist position during acupuncture, and it is best to maintain a half-clenched-fist position during the whole process of needle retention and starting the needle, so as not to cause obvious pain. Houxi point is usually stabbed straight, and Hegu point can be stabbed through for treating contracture pain of fingers, basically not stabbing outward obliquely.
2. When massaging Houxi points, you need to master the correct massage techniques, and can use the thumb to press and knead or point pressure, with moderate strength.
3. Local trauma or skin ulcers, should not acupuncture here.
