Treatment for keratosis pilaris is based on topical antifungal ointments. Ringworm ointment, clotrimazole ointment, miconazole ointment, and terbinafine ointment can be chosen for this type of foot fungus. However, due to factors such as poor penetration of local medications in keratosis pilaris, which leads to poor efficacy or a high recurrence rate, topical salicylic acid can be used appropriately for keratin softening or a small amount of exfoliation in patients with this type of tinea pedis. After the skin has been softened and exfoliated, further topical antifungal medications are used, and a course of treatment of four weeks or more, or a combination of systemic antifungal medications, is generally recommended. Commonly used oral antifungal drugs include terbinafine and itraconazole, but oral antifungal drugs are generally more toxic to the liver, so these drugs can only be applied under the guidance of a dermatologist.
