There is a small growth under the earlobe. The first consideration is lymphadenitis, because the lymph nodes behind the ear and in the neck are superficial and can be seen under normal circumstances. If the bun grows larger and there is pain around it, even with an increase in body temperature, it is most likely to be considered lymph node inflammation. Lymph node inflammation should be treated with oral antibiotics, such as cefradine and cefixime, or intravenous antibiotics, and anti-inflammatory creams can be applied to the surface of the inflamed lymph nodes. The parotid gland is located below the earlobe and a little above the angle of the jaw, so if the immune system is low, a viral infection may lead to parotid inflammation, which is more common in children. The parotid gland should be treated with antiviral therapy, either oral acyclovir or intravenous ribavirin.
