While vaccines and potent drugs are powerful tools in the fight against novel pneumonia outbreaks, isolation of virulent strains, drug screening, and new drug development require extensive data analysis and scientific supercomputing. There are currently five drugs that may be effective against novel coronaviruses: Beclabuvir, saquinavir, bitaravir, lopinavir, and dotilavir. Computer algorithms can help drug researchers achieve target discovery, screening compounds, matching clinical trialists and other operations. AI algorithms can theoretically support target matching of existing drugs, but they have not yet been applied practically for this new coronavirus and still need specific confirmation and research.
