Chinese medicine can treat pleural effusion, which in Chinese medicine includes two diseases: hanging drink and branch drink. The most commonly used formula for pleural effusion is Ten Jujubes Tang, which consists of four herbs, including Coriander, Glycyrrhiza glabra, Morinda citrifolia and ten jujubes, and is relatively severe in its action, mainly for the purpose of expelling water, i.e., removing water, which is very important. There is also the category of Branch Drinks, commonly used formulas are Ling Gui Wu Wei Gan Cao Tang and Ling Gan Wu Wei Jiang Xin Tang, the main drugs are Gui Zhi, Poria, licorice, dry ginger, warming and water-inducing drugs, to warm and remove the pleural effusion.
