Ursodeoxycholic acid, when taken orally, inhibits the reabsorption of cholesterol in the intestinal tract and reduces the secretion of cholesterol into the bile, thus lowering the cholesterol saturation in the bile.
Ursodeoxycholic acid is mainly used for gallbladder cholesterol stones that can be penetrated by X-ray, while the contractile function of the gallbladder must be normal; cholestatic liver disease, such as primary biliary cirrhosis, bile reflux gastritis, etc..
Adverse reactions to this product include gastrointestinal disorders and allergic reactions. It is contraindicated in acute cholecystitis and cholangitis, biliary obstruction.
