A 5-year-old boy who wets the bed every day may be caused by sleep-wake dysfunction, abnormal bladder function, family genetics, and other factors.
1. Sleep-wake dysfunction: this is the most important pathogenesis of nocturnal enuresis in children. It refers to the fact that the nerve impulses generated by bladder filling fail to awaken the child after entering the sleep state, and the child urinates in the non-waking sleep state.
There are several possible factors: ① the nerve impulses generated by bladder filling are insufficient to induce arousal; too deep sleep, failure to wake up, etc. ② Nocturnal polyuria: In some children with enuresis, the kidneys produce large amounts of urine at night, exceeding the maximum bladder capacity. It may be related to insufficient secretion of antidiuretic hormone by the pituitary gland at night.
2. Abnormal bladder function: mainly a decrease in bladder capacity caused by over-excitation of the detrusor muscle at night, resulting in more frequent urination and less urine volume each time.
3. Family inheritance: about 62% of children with enuresis have parents or other relatives with a history of a similar disease, suggesting that there may be a genetic predisposition to the disease.
4. Other: such as diabetes, depression and sleep apnea may also be associated with enuresis.
5-year-old boy daily bedwetting may also be caused by other reasons, it is recommended to timely visit the hospital to identify the cause of targeted treatment or therapy.
