What does it mean to have a leaky stomach?

The term “bleeding” is derived from the theory of Chinese medicine, which refers to heavy vaginal bleeding in women, while “leakage” refers to a relatively small amount of bleeding that does not stop for a long time. It can be seen in women of any age from the onset of menstruation to premenopause, and is mainly related to overwork, depression, or improper postpartum care or menopausal syndrome. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, the common types of symptoms of menorrhagia include yin deficiency and blood heat, spleen deficiency and qi trapping, blood stasis and obstruction, and liver depression and blood heat. Yin-deficiency and blood-heat type of leakage often has a history of prolonged or major illness, and is accompanied by hot hands and feet and restless sleep at night; spleen-deficiency and qi-trap type of leakage is often accompanied by indigestion, belching, and easy fatigue; blood stasis and obstruction type is common in postpartum women; liver-depression and blood-heat type is often accompanied by easy nosebleeds and agitation. In the treatment of TCM, it is mainly formulated according to the severity and urgency of different women’s conditions and the bleeding situation, and the principle of treating the symptoms in the acute stage and the root cause in the calm stage is adopted. In the acute stage, the main focus is on replenishing qi and stopping bleeding, and herbs such as ginseng and ginseng can be used to replenish qi, while herbs such as ephedra root and dogwood can be used to stop bleeding. After the bleeding stops gradually, we should clarify the source and consolidate the root, and choose suitable herbs according to different types of evidence. Generally speaking, after the bleeding of menorrhagia has gradually stopped, women’s body has not yet fully recovered, so it is still necessary to consolidate the origin and restore the balance of yin and yang, so as to prevent the recurrence of the disease. Most women who have been diagnosed with menorrhagia are highly nervous and worried about the prognosis of the disease, so while ensuring their active treatment, their family members should also comfort and accommodate them in time to reduce their psychological pressure and burden. Women themselves should also be optimistic and ensure that they face it in a good state of mind, which is also beneficial to their physical recovery.
