Are dark circles under the eyes related to chronic constipation?

No direct relationship has been found between dark circles and chronic constipation.
Dark eye circles refer to the pigmentation of the skin of the patient’s eyes, and the common causes of this symptom include sleep deprivation, prolonged illness and infirmity, recovery from a serious illness, smoking, old age, late pregnancy, excessive sexual intercourse, hereditary constitution, and some liver and kidney diseases, etc. Constipation refers to the patient’s decreased fecal output, decreased frequency of defecation, and difficulty in defecation.
Common causes of constipation include organic lesions of intestinal tube, rectal and anal lesions, endocrine lesions, systemic diseases, neuropsychological disorders, pharmacological factors, improper diet, psychological tension, colonic motility dysfunction, and pelvic muscle hypotonia, etc. A direct link has not yet been found between the two symptoms of dark circles and long-term constipation.
