Chenpi is the dried mature fruit peel of orange and its cultivated varieties in the family of Rutaceae. It is bitter, pungent and warm in nature. It belongs to lung and spleen meridians. It can regulate qi, strengthen the spleen, dry dampness and resolve phlegm (dispel dampness by drying dampness and dissolve phlegm). It is used for distention and fullness in the epigastrium (stomach and abdomen), scanty food and vomiting and diarrhea, and cough with excessive phlegm.
