Urinary tract infections can be treated by pressing acupuncture points such as Bladder Yu, Zhongji and Yinlingquan, but it is not recommended to treat them with self-massage to avoid delaying the condition.
Urinary tract infection belongs to the category of gonorrhea (increased frequency of urination, drenching and pain) in traditional Chinese medicine. Clinically, the commonly used acupuncture points are Bladder Yu, Zhongji, Yinlingquan and so on.
If you have gas gonorrhea, add Xingma; if you have blood gonorrhea (blood in urine with pain), add Blood Sea, Sanyinjiao; if you have cream gonorrhea (urine as cloudy as rice soup or as slippery as grease, accompanied by urinary frequency and urgency, and discomfort of abdominal traction), add Kidney Yu, Zhaohai; if you have labor gonorrhea (urinary frequency, urgency, and pain, and discomfort of abdominal traction after work), add Baihui, Qihai, and Shusanli, and so on.
Patients with urinary tract infections are advised to seek timely medical treatment. If you need to massage acupoints for treatment, it is recommended to do so under the guidance of a doctor.
