What’s wrong with feeling something move in your ear?

Feeling that something is moving in the ear may be caused by foreign body irritation, or considered to be caused by cerumen impaction, otitis media and other diseases. 1. Foreign body irritation: If a small amount of water enters the ear canal accidentally when taking a bath or when washing the face, or if a foreign body does enter, it may cause the patient to feel that something is moving in the ear. 2. Cerumen embolism: the cause of cerumen embolism is related to excessive cerumen secretion, cerumen discharge obstacle, cerumen deterioration and other factors. Patients will have symptoms such as itching of the ear canal, stuffy feeling in the ear, hearing loss, etc. When the volume of cerumen is small and has not completely blocked the ear canal, it can be manifested as something moving in the ear. 3. Otitis media: Otitis media may be caused by pathogen infection, foreign bodies in the ear canal, decreased self-cleaning ability of the ear canal, decreased immunity and other factors. Symptoms are ear pain, water flowing from the ear canal, tinnitus, etc. When watery secretions flow out of the ear canal, the patient feels that there is something moving in the ear. If patients feel something moving in their ears for a long time, they need to go to the hospital so as to clarify the cause of the disease.
