What diabetes autoantibody results tell you

Diabetes autoantibodies can indicate whether there is autoimmune damage to pancreatic islet B-cells, and it is recommended that diabetes autoantibodies be checked under the supervision of a doctor. Diabetes autoantibodies generally refer to islet cell antibody (ICA), insulin antibody (IAA) and glutamic acid decarboxylase antibody (GAD). If all three antibodies are positive, it means that the patient’s pancreatic islet B-cells are impaired, and type 1 diabetes is caused by damage to pancreatic islet B-cells, so it is mostly seen in type 1 diabetes. If the diabetes antibody is abnormal, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time and ask the doctor to make a judgment, and under the doctor’s guidance, actively treat the disease.
