Dry cough can be treated by moxibustion if it is confirmed to be caused by Yang Qi deficiency or wind-cold through TCM identification. Moxibustion mainly has the function of warming the meridians and dispersing cold, unblocking the meridians, and also has the function of supporting yang and removing stagnation and dissipating nodules, and preventing disease and health. When dry cough occurs, it can be treated with lung meridian acupuncture points, as well as the Governor’s meridian acupuncture points. The commonly used acupuncture points for dry cough can be Shouze, Lijiao, and the back of the large vertebrae, Fengmen, and Lung Yu.
