Medication abortion is a relatively safe form of abortion, generally without serious or life-threatening maternal complications, and the abdominal pain is relatively mild and mostly tolerable, generally without damaging the endometrium and cervix of the uterus. However, drug abortion is not completely free of adverse effects: first, the indications for drug abortion are relatively limited, only for early intrauterine pregnancy within 49 days of pregnancy; second, drug abortion has the potential to cause incomplete abortion and abortion failure. In particular, women who have suffered from serious endometritis, or who have undergone abortion surgery and cleanup surgery for many times, have a higher possibility of failure of medical abortion; third, the bleeding time after medical abortion is relatively long, usually around 7-10 days, which relatively increases the incidence of infectious diseases in the uterus after abortion.
