How to correct a baby’s crooked neck to one side

Babies with necks tilted to one side are also known as cervical tilt. Cervical tilt can be treated by changing postures, hot compresses and massages, immobilizing with braces, and surgical treatments. 1. Changing posture: if the baby’s neck is tilted to one side, use sandbags to keep the head in a corrected position when sleeping, let the baby’s head be inclined to the other side when breastfeeding to close to the mother’s body, so as to make the neck muscles on the opposite side to be stretched, and interact with the baby to attract him/her to turn his/her head to the direction opposite to the inclined head, so that the inclined neck can be improved gradually. 2. Warm compresses and massages: Apply warm towels to the baby’s neck to improve local blood circulation and stimulate the development of the sternocleidomastoid muscle to correct the inclined neck. The baby lies flat on the mother’s knee, gently massage the crooked side of the neck with the thumb, and then rotate the baby’s head and neck to the affected side with the hand, in order to have traction on the contracture of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, and improve the inclined neck after insisting for a period of time. 3. Brace fixation: The baby’s neck is crooked to one side, which is caused by the abnormal development of neck muscles and bones, and can be treated by wearing neck braces, so that the bones can restore the normal shape. 4. Surgery: If the baby’s neck is not effectively corrected by the above methods, the contracture of the sternocleidomastoid muscle can be corrected by cutting off the contracture of the sternocleidomastoid muscle through surgery. The baby’s neck should be corrected in time, actively seek medical treatment, under the guidance of the doctor to choose the appropriate program for treatment.
