How to check thyroid

The main methods to check the thyroid gland include physical examination, imaging and laboratory tests. 1. Physical examination: it includes visual examination, palpation and auscultation. Visual examination is mainly to observe the size and symmetry of the thyroid gland and to determine whether there is enlargement and other abnormalities; palpation is mainly to examine the isthmus and lateral lobes of the thyroid gland; and auscultation is generally to use a stethoscope to listen for vascular murmurs and other conditions in the area of the thyroid gland. 2. Imaging examination: the most commonly used method to examine the thyroid gland is thyroid color ultrasound, which can effectively observe whether the thyroid gland has nodules, enlargement, abnormal blood flow and other conditions. 3. Laboratory tests: including thyroid function and thyroid-related antibody tests, of which thyroid function includes thyrotropin, free triiodothyronine, total triiodothyronine, free thyroxine, total thyroxine, etc., and thyroid-related antibody tests include thyroglobulin antibody and thyroid peroxidase antibody. Patients suspected of having thyroid-related diseases are advised to go to the hospital for examination and judgment by professional doctors.
