Numbness and cramps in the hands may be some kind of physiological phenomenon, or it may be the symptomatic manifestation of certain diseases, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, hypocalcemia, etc., and should be promptly consulted to find out the cause.
1. Physiological factors; the hand maintains a posture for a long time, such as lifting heavy objects for a long time, so that the blood flow of the hand is not good, the local blood supply is not enough to cause numbness and cramps, usually after appropriate rest will return to normal.
2. Pathological factors
(1) Carpal tunnel syndrome: due to trauma, carpal tunnel lesions and other factors lead to median nerve compression in the wrist, which can cause numbness and cramps in the hand.
(2) Hypocalcemia: the normal concentration of blood calcium is 2.25~2.75mmol/L. When the concentration of blood calcium is lower than 2.25mmol/L, it will cause the increase of neuromuscular excitability, which will lead to the symptom of numbness and cramp of hand.
Numbness and cramps in the hands may also be caused by other reasons. After appropriate rest is ineffective, should promptly consult the doctor, complete the relevant examination, clarify the cause of the disease, and treat the cause.
