Brain metastasis of lung cancer belongs to stage IV lung cancer, and most of the patients cannot be cured clinically. At present, five-year survival rate is commonly used to assess the survival of patients, and the five-year survival rate of patients with stage IV lung cancer is about 10% in general.
Survival of patients with brain metastasis of lung cancer is related to various factors such as clinical stage, pathological type and overall status of the patient. If the patient’s physical strength score is good, the malignancy of lung cancer is not high, the patient is able to tolerate radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy and other anti-tumor treatments, and the patient’s response to the treatment is good, then the patient’s symptoms can be alleviated, the quality of life can be improved, and the survival period can be prolonged.
If the patient’s physical strength score is poor and cannot tolerate anti-tumor treatment, or if the patient’s response to treatment is insensitive and the malignancy of lung cancer is high, such as brain metastasis of small-cell lung cancer, the patient’s condition will develop rapidly, and the patient’s death may occur within a few months.
If the patient is not feeling well, it is recommended to go to regular hospitals and be treated under the guidance of doctors so as not to delay the condition.
