The term adenomyosis refers to adenomyosis of the uterus, and a higher CA125 does not mean that adenomyosis is more serious. CA125 is a tumor marker, the normal value is 0-35U/ml, and the value of CA125 is usually not more than 200U/ml when the patient has adenomyosis, and it can also be seen in benign diseases such as pelvic inflammatory disease, pancreatitis, etc. It is necessary to pay special attention to the fact that when the value of CA125 rises significantly, we should be alerted to the presence of malignant tumors, such as breast cancer, intestinal cancer and ovarian cancer. Most of the patients with adenomyosis will have symptoms of dysmenorrhea, increased menstrual blood flow and infertility. Determining the severity of adenomyosis is based on clinical symptoms and ultrasound examination. There are some patients who have very mild adenomyosis with normal CA125 level on ultrasound, but the symptoms of dysmenorrhea are very obvious, and in severe cases, they can’t tolerate it and it affects their normal life. Therefore, a higher CA125 level does not mean that adenomyosis is more serious. It is recommended that patients with adenomyosis with elevated CA125 should go to the hospital in time for examination to clarify the cause of the disease and under the guidance of the doctor for targeted treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
