Is Shengyang Tang effective in treating spontaneous sweating due to Qi deficiency?

Regaining Yang Tang is effective in treating spontaneous sweating due to deficiency of qi with symptoms of yang deficiency, but it is not effective in treating simple spontaneous sweating due to deficiency of qi.
Sweating during the day, which is often worse, is called spontaneous sweating. Sweating is usually caused by Qi deficiency, but it can also be seen in solid cases. Sweating due to Qi deficiency corresponds to Lung-Wei non-solidification in TCM, and is often treated with the addition and subtraction of Yu Ping Feng San.
Regaining Yang Tang is mainly composed of ginseng, maitong, radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum, Radix Astragali, and Radix Paeoniae Alba, etc. It has the efficacy of stabilizing yang and stopping sweating, and can be used for treating the symptoms of incessant sweating caused by severe and prolonged illness or yang deficiency. The adverse effects of this drug are not clear, and it is contraindicated for those with solid symptoms. It is recommended to have a light diet and regular rest during the use of this medicine.
If spontaneous sweating due to Qi deficiency is accompanied by symptoms of Yang deficiency, such as coldness and chills, it can be treated with Regaining Yang Tang. If there is only spontaneous sweating due to Qi deficiency, the treatment effect may not be obvious.
Patients with Qi deficiency and spontaneous sweating are advised to consult a Chinese medicine practitioner for the correct use of medication under the guidance of a Chinese medicine practitioner and not to take medication on their own.
