Do vertebral hemangiomas require treatment?

Vertebral hemangiomas are benign vascular tumors that occur at any age, but clinically they tend to become symptomatic after middle age and are more common in women than men. Their histogenesis is misshapen, mostly in the lower thoracic and upper lumbar spine, and their pathology is characterized by a large number of proliferating capillaries and dilated blood sinuses. In some patients, vertebral hemangiomas do not have any clinical symptoms and do not require treatment. In a very small number of patients, the hemangioma is eroded into the surrounding tissues, resulting in back soreness, pain, spinal stiffness, and restricted movement, requiring treatment, and in a very small number of patients, vertebroplasty is required to achieve symptom relief. Therefore, vertebral hemangioma mainly depends on its clinical symptoms and compression symptoms, and most of them do not need treatment, and only a very small number of people will have symptomatic treatment.
