Earwax has two meanings, one is often referred to as cerumen in the ear. Cerumen is a metabolic product secreted by the cerumen gland from the outer to the cartilaginous part of the ear, and can normally be excreted from the body. If for some reason it does not pass out of the body and accumulates in the outer ear canal, it may form a cerumen embolism. The other type is earwax, which is a stain on the skin behind the ear or on the top of the skin of the ear. It is mainly caused by poor personal hygiene, resulting in a decrease in the cleanliness of the skin, and only requires local attention to cleaning when washing the face or bathing. Other factors that cause more ear wax, such as skin diseases, can also form more ear wax, which is other special cases.
